Penshurst Farmers Market

We only accept local food and drink producers from within a 35 mile radius. By focusing on high quality small scale local producers and prompting them to use each other’s products where possible, we encourage a sustainable low mileage environment for local customers and promote local business. We quality check every stall holder carefully to ensure they fit our strict criteria - they must make their own product themselves, source locally where appropriate - we do have craft chocolate and coffee that obviously use a key ingredient that doesn’t grow in the UK but both producers create the product locally.

We know from our research that the market is an important social hub for the village and surrounding area, particularly through and after the trials of the pandemic and lock down . We have loyal customers who come from across Kent to support us.

We have a very small volunteer team running the market so don’t have the resources or support to do much other community work but occasionally run raffles at special occasion markets to fund raise for local charities and support local groups such as the Penshurst Choral Society who sing at our Christmas market and raise money for local charity then.
